Affiliate profit is there for the taking, there is no doubt about this. However, many people struggle to see their websites produce any results in the paypal account, despite seeing visitors flowing through in the web stats. The most common reason for this is lack of relevance in the products and content which are being offered on the site. Having loads of visitors come to your website is no good unless your  web content and affiliate product is targeted towards what they are looking for.

This is why it is usually a waste of time and money to use web services which deliver thousands of visitors for a fee. I have tried that one and it doesn’t work. The visitors are simply not targeted. For example, if you have a niche website on the subject of training German Shepherd dogs, it’s no use having thousands of visitors to your site who are interested in general dog care. Their interest is too broad.

The first thing to do before even considering a domain name for your website is visit the Google Adwords Keyword Tool to get ideas of what people are searching for. It will also give you the number of searches per month for a particular key phrase. The green bar will give you the strength of competition, and if this is too great you will have to narrow your keyphrase to what is called a long tailed keyword. For example the phrase “dog training” will be too competitive, but a longer phrase such as “german shepherd dog training” will give you a better chance of getting ranked in the search engines. Once you have practiced your keyword research a little and get the idea, there are more ways you can get the edge on your competition by using good affiliate keyword software.

There are still plenty off opportunities on the internet to make affiliate profit but you have to get clever to draw in relevant traffic to your website. Unless you do this you can compare your efforts with your website to putting a television set at the north pole and thinking people are going to stream to watch it.

Affiliate keyword research can  in fact become an addictive pastime, especially when you hit the spot and see the result in the search engines. I’m not a gambler but I suppose the buzz can be compared to that which is experienced in a gambling win. Keyword research is a lot safer for your financial wellbeing too!

These poor souls, who were obviously trying their best, would never stand a chance of seeing their “sites” ranked by Google. I suggest the dummies here are the ones who would take such advantage of people – no matter how much money they rake in, they will have to live with themselves.

In the last two years I have been lucky to meet several who are the salt of the earth, doing what they do because they have a dream of helping people through e-commerce. So much opportunity as a Niche Affiliate Marketer, so little time!

This used to be a major struggle of mine until I came across the work of Adam Short and Alen Sultanic at www.NicheProfitClassroom.com.  Structuring time is critical!

When you first discover the marketing potential of the internet, the mind can become awash with ideas but then you struggle to find one focus… one idea to pursue.

Watch out – the more you hang around the world of internet marketing, the more you find opportunities to make money online will glare back at you and it can quickly become overwhelming. It becomes a challenge to know what to do next. Clearly, a well structured plan of action is required and the main two qualities required of you as a potentially successful niche marketer are focus and self dicipline!

Once you have decided what your focus is going to be, you then have to structure your time with a determined will that things SHALL be done! If this approach is not taken then you will get carried away with destractions – “Oh I’ll just have another coffee (See health category), I’d better check my emails again, or at worst – I’m tired and I’ll carry on with my plans for a lucrative niche marketing business tomorrow.”

You know what? Tomorrow never comes – there is only “The NoW”.

Prioritize what you are required to do. What is most important in this NOW? Once you have decided, Write down a time line in which you will get things accomplished. It can be on a simple piece of notepaper that you stick somewhere you are going to see everyday.

Then comes the hard part – Do it!

One thing at a time… you can multi-task, but don’t do too much. The main thing is to see each task through to the end. It’s more desirable to do one thing well to the end than to get overwhelmed and never finish anything completely. The reward of satisfaction is never experienced this way!

9. Bring me closer to retiring comfortably with an autopilot system in place…

10. Buy me that Car I’ve always wanted.

You’ve got the idea. What is it you want the most? We all have different motivations in our lives… Peace of mind,Love, Money, Power…

The next time you are engaged in a task that is driving you crazy – Take time out, close your eyes for a couple of minutes and visualize. Every good thing originated first in the mind.

BUT STUDY THE PATH!…

He emphasized to me that passion and determination, together with faith must be strong enough to carry you through the hours and hours in the sometimes very frustrating learning curve. Of course, he’s the one laughing now, but only because he understood the levels of work involved and got on with it!

A final word in this post – If you’re going to decide to do what it takes, which will involve many hours at your computer, there is something so important to take into account, and that is your health and wellbeing. Remember your brain needs oxygen and plenty of nutrients to be at its peak performance. I have made the mistake in the past of not taking regular breaks, not eating well, and not getting exercise. The result was that my clarity,  direction and performance went down the tube, and I just couldn’t function properly.
